A natural back pain treatment is becoming a more popular choice. People are becoming fed up and disenchanted with potentially harmful pharmaceutical medications. They can cause side effects and in many cases, only treat the symptoms and don’t work to address the underlying problem of your back discomfort and pain.

This is a list of 7 of the most popular and recommended ideas for treating back pain and discomfort naturally, without the reliance on surgery (at least in the short term) or harsh chemical medications. Your individual case will determine which is the more suitable and safest to try for your own health.

1. Acupuncture

A large percentage of people who visit an acupuncturist are there for back pain. Up to 14% it was noted in one study. This statistic proves that people are seeking safer and alternative treatments to this widespread problem, and acupuncture is near the top of the list as a first or second choice. Studies are still continuing to determine the effectiveness of acupuncture on back problems. One to keep an eye on is a study of 700 sufferers who are undergoing acupuncture. The study will compare their 4 year acupuncture routine against conventional treatments.

2. Massage

Massages can help to relieve the severe symptoms of back pain. It has also been shown to assist in improving the general function of the back over a period of time. Almost 1 in 5 visits to massage therapists are for back pain related issues! Massauers are definitely doing good business in this area, but is it worth the cost?

Benefits of Having a Massage for Back Relief
1. Massages decrease tension in the back muscles
2. Massage helps with other issues like sleep problems, stress and fatigue. These problems can all lead to back tension and pain.
3. It helps to increase your mobility and flexibility. This is particularly important if your back pain results in stiffness and lack of mobility, especially in cold weather.
4. Increase positive brain chemicals like serotonin and dopamine, while decreasing the hormones that can cause depression, fatigue and stress.

In 2008 there was a study that showed that people with chronic lower back pain and sciatica benefited from massage therapy as it gave them an increased range of motion and less pain.

3. Thermotex Heating Pads

Marketed as a muscle injury rehabilitation device, the Thermotex heating pad is quite revolutionary. It’s immense popularity has proven that it is highly effective and a good, affordable investment for a range of back and body problems.

4. Yoga

Yoga, along with acupuncture, has become a very popular and encouraging method of back pain relief and long term back function improvement. It helps to create a balance throughout your body that assist in developing the core strength and flexibility that is so important for a healthy, painless back.
“A study of people with chronic mild low back pain compared Iyengar yoga to back education. After 16 weeks, there was a significant reduction in pain intensity, disability, and reliance on pain medication in the yoga group. Benefits were also seen at three month follow up assessments.” – source: About.com
5. Back Strengthening

Depending upon the reason for your back pain, this one may or may not be suitable for you. Speak to your doctor about trying out the back strengthening exercises and ask for advice and opinions on any risks involved first.
It goes without saying that having a strong back means that you’re less likely to experience chronic pain. A weak back is more susceptible to pain and inflexibility. The stronger your back muscles are, the better control you’re going to have over your movement.
back

You can do back strengthening exercises at home in all sorts of ways. You can use equipment, or just do it free standing without any accessories. You can also visit a gym for light weight training (or purchase some affordable home weights equipment). If you choose to do weights do ensure that you are using only LIGHT weights, especially in the beginning. This is not bodybuilding – there is absolutely no need to use heavy weights which can and will cause injury.

The Swiss ball (or fitness ball) is another great way to strengthen your back. Just sitting on the ball can help in the beginning. It helps your balance and joint position. As you become used to the ball you can move on to other exercises with it. This is a really easy, effective and affordable way to build up your back strength. It’s also not at all time consuming, so great for busy people. You may like to incorporate the Swiss ball exercises into a yoga or light gym routine.

6. Magnesium

Magnesium is a highly important mineral in the human body, yet its importance is often overlooked when we think about our health. In terms of helping with back pain, magnesium assists with muscle function as well as nerve function. It also helps bone strength and blood pressure. These are all important things when it comes to a strong and pain-free back.

7. Willow Bark

Willow bark comes from the bark of the willow tree. It has been known for a long time to have pain relief benefits, thanks to salicin which is found in the bark. The human body converts this to salicylic acid which relieves pain and inflammation – similar to how aspirin works.

The Sun Conure is on of the most popular of the exotic parrots to have as a pet. They are very sociable and intelligent and thus can be rather easily trained. One of the greatest keys to teaching a sun conure how to perform certain behaviors is through frequent contact. These birds, like almost all parrots, are highly social and live in large groups in the wild, and therefore crave attention and interaction in captivity too by their human carer if they are not in a flock with their own kind.

One of the first things people usually try with their Sun Conure is to train him to step off the perch onto their finger – stepping up. If your conure doesn’t want to trust this new perch at first, a very gentle touch on the chest will encourage him. You will need to hold up your end of the deal and make sure your finger is held firm and steady.

Since the key is regular handling and familiarity, frequently working on the “game” with your parrot will make the training sessions more fun and successful for you both. When they are happy, and constant attention makes them very happy, they can quickly figure out what you are attempting to get them to do.

Many people liken parrots to 2-5 year old children when it comes to intelligence, and nowhere is this more apparent than in their attention span. Parrots simply will not be switched on for hours at a time to partake in your activities. Or even for 10 minutes at a time in many cases. Undertaking your “training” sessions with your Conure in short bursts will save lots of frustration for you both. 2 minutes here, 2 minutes there throughout the day – rather than long, drawn out sessions.

Mornings and late afternoon are the best times to interact as this is when they are most alert and ready for action. Many birds enjoy resting and sleeping during the day.

Naturally, using enticing food reward and “baits” of their favorite food treat is how we positively lure a parrot along the training path until the routine becomes familiar.

A small piece of fresh fruit or tropical nut as a reward will help reinforce the sun conure’s training when a task is well performed.

It is never too early to start training your Sun Conure. The more attention they get from you and the more you practice the various routines, the more receptive to new activities this curious and friendly bird will be.

Jungle Talk has a reputation for making some of the highest quality, most fun and most original parrot toys. They have a huge range that span from under $10 to over $100, depending on the toy. There is something for every bird, check out some of the best that I’ve picked to feature here.

A parrot puzzle is a toy that provides stimulation to parrots, particularly the larger species like cockatoos. Some birds will spend hours fiddling and playing with the puzzle pieces as they try to fit them into the correct spot. Fun to watch and best of all, you know that your bird’s brain and body is stimulated. This sort of enrichment goes a long way to ensure the health and hapiness of your beloved parrot family member.

Foraging Without Weight Gain
Almost all parrot foraging activity require that you use treats to encourage your bird to forage. This can of course quickly lead to unintential weight gain, particularly if your parrot has a fondness for high fat or unehealthy treats! So a major benefit of the Pyramid Puzzle is that your bird can forage without taking in those extra calories. He or she simply plays with the puzzle pieces instead. The colourful wooden treasures inside the plastic pyramid will keep your bird occupied for hours as he learns to get the pieces of out the pyramid (and perhaps even put them back in!)

Talk n’ Play Phones for Parrots

A phone for birds? Well, not exactly, but it does look like one!
The Jungle Talk “Talk n Play” toy has a mirror, plus sound and light to grab your bird’s attention and keep him physically and mentally active. It is best for smaller birds like cockatiels, conures and amazons. It is a fun interactive toy that, when your bird presses the buttons (and he will!), it activates phrases such as “hello”, “ha ha ha”, “I love you” etc. Great for teaching your bird to learn some new words! It costs less than $10 so is a good little bargain for your parrot.

Jungle Talk Cage Nut Puzzle

Your bird will love trying to get the tasty almonds out of the fruity flavoured wood cage of this Jungle Talk Cage Nut Puzzle toy. Not only a challenging toy for intelligent parrots, but a rewarding one too, with a tasty treat awaiting inside.

You can get replacement wood pieces from the Jungle Talk Toy Box Assortment.

This toy encourages foraging, exercise and beak maintenance. It will keep your feathered friend busy for hours. For best results, interchange this toy with some of the other Jungle Talk toys (or any of your bird’s favourite toys) so he never becomes bored.

This is a fantastic toy for medium to large sized parrots.

Choosing parrot friendly materials for the cage or aviary is absolutely vital. So many people are unaware that some items, materials, and fumes are highly toxic to birds. For instance, TEFLON when burnt can kill birds in minutes, so your bird should NEVER be kept anywhere near a kitchen.

As for what materials you can put in your parrot’s living areas. Some aspects to consider are:

Perches

Sleeping

Playing

Mental Stimulation

Foraging

Perches
If you live in an area that is inhabited by wild parrots then be cautious as to where you obtain your natural perches from. Almost all trees that are suitable for your parrot would probably at some point have been used by wild parrots (e.g. any type of eucalypt in Australia. Diseases such as PBFD may be present but it is impossible to ever be 100% sure. Most parrot owners therefore just take the precautions that they can – this includes hosing down the branches before use and letting them dry in the sun for several days.

Playing
When your parrot comes out of his cage you need to ensure your home is “parrot friendly”. That generally means not having large windows exposed (birds can easily scare and take flight straight into a window).
Also keep away anything that could be chewed on, particularly electrical cables, drapes/curtains, anything with paint on it and really – most things. Either it will be dangerous to your parrot, or your parrot will certainly destroy whatever he can get his beak into!

When playing in the cage there is certainly no shortage of safe toys – just don’t buy “toys” from the local $1 store because it is very likely they are using unsafe paint. Instead, only buy trusted brands.

Mental Stimulation
You can purchase parrot safe ropes, toys, activity sets from accredited online pet stores. You can also locate natural items that your parrot may enjoy such as leafy branches (keep safety in mind as outlined in the Perches section above), large wild nuts and anything else that may be specific to your species of parrot. For example cockatoos love to chew on pine cones and some online stores will actually sell these which is handy if you can’t find them where you live.

Parrot friendly materials are common sense – please never give your parrot anything that isn’t natural or approved for bird use. If you aren’t sure, please ask your avian veterinarian. It’s always better to be safe than sorry.

There are a few things to consider before buying or building a cage for your companion parrot.

Purchase the largest cage you can afford.

Safety and design is important.

Quality, materials and size should take priority over price.

A safe cage involves making sure the metals are safe. Powder coated metals or stainless steel cages are always the best choices. Make sure the cage has secure and safe locks and latches. Make sure there are no sharp edges, and always look for any chipping or rusting in the paint as this can be toxic for your bird.

A good cage should have ample room for suitable toys and perches. Parrots that are let out of their cage all day, or for many hours per day, should always have an interesting cage to go back into when you are not at home, and in the evening. A regular rotation of new and bird-safe exciting toys is always ideal.

Make sure you put out different sizes and varieties of perches in the cage, particularly those made of natural and safe branches. Outside the cage, a dedicated parrot play gym and stands make for fun, comfortable spots for your bird to enjoy.

Perches should always be arranged in the cage so as not to be placed above food and water bowls, to prevent fouling.

Ideally your parrot’s cage should be large enough for him to completely stretch his wings in, and if possible, fly in. For the larger species this can be a challenge unless you have room for an aviary. As a result, all companion parrots should have at least several hours out of their cage each day, in an environment that is completely safe for them to fly around in under supervision.

Bird cages should never be placed where there are dogs and cats, where there is no protection from draughts and direct sunshine (some sunshine is needed, but ensure your bird has room to move to the shade as well) or where other threats may be present.

Parrots thrive when they are treated as part of the family, so placing their cage in an area that is frequented by humans is advisable. However, it is vital to note that a parrot should NEVER be placed in or near a kitchen due to the multiple hazards that occur in this area – in particular, cooking fumes and non-stick cookware (as well as irons and other objects that contain TEFLON) – never expose your bird to the kitchen or in the path of kitchen fumes, as painful death from non-stick fumes occurs within minutes.

African Greys have a reputation for being exceptional talkers. They, like all parrots, are highly intelligent and as a result, require extensive attention throughout their lives. They are not a pet for those who do not have a great deal of time and dedication.

Sadly, as a result of African Grey’s talking ability, they are the most highly trafficked and abused parrot species in the world along with the Senegal Parrot, another African species. It is estimated that up to 20% of the wild population of Grey’s is cruelly trapped in Africa every year for the pet trade – most die enroute and those who survive are destined for tiny cages and breeding mills.

Our advice is this: if you have your heart set on an African Grey, adopt one in need of a home. There are many parrot rescue organizations throughout the U.S and several in Canada, the UK and other countries. This ensures you are not contributing the mass breeding and wild trapping of these wonderful birds.

All Greys have the potential to speak and imitate humans, as well as other sounds and whistles. But this doesn’t mean all Greys will speak or will speak well. One should never purchase a parrot solely because they want a “talker” or an “entertainer” – but rather because you want a loving companion who will be with you for many decades. Greys are extremely complex birds, but with dedication they can make the most amazing friend.

African Greys are excellent mimickers and have been the subject of extensive studies, in particular the famous Alex, made famous by renowned Irene M. Pepperberg. It is generally not necessary to “train” your Grey to talk, as they will quickly pick up words and sounds from their environment. If you wish to train your bird to say particular words or sentences, this can certainly be done with positive reinforcement, such as the techniques promoted and used successfully by Barbara Heidenreich at Good Bird Inc.

Here are a couple of videos of some obviously well looked after African Greys showing us just how intelligent they are!

Galahs, also known as rose-breasted cockatoos outside of Australia, are highly social and long-lived like all cockatoos – a healthy, well-cared for bird can live up to 50 years.

A galah makes a wonderful companion. But like all birds, they are not to be kept alone in a cage for hours on end. People who have the time and means necessary to enable a galah to live a social, interactive, stimulating and healthy life are the only ones who should consider taking in one as a new family member.

Where To Get a Galah

Buying a galah from a pet store, while tempting to relieve him or her of his suffering in a cage, simply encourages the cycle of mass breeding for profit. There are thousands of birds out there needing a home, so contacting your local parrot rescue (if you’re lucky enough to have one nearby), or animal shelter is a good place to start. All pet birds deserve a loving home and it is immensely satisfying, though not without it’s hard work, to take in a formerly unwanted galah.

Commitment

Galahs form a strong bond with their human companion and this should be thought of as a lifelong attachment – having a galah in your home is similar to have a 3 year old child for 30-50 years. It is not a decision to make lightly and one that should be seriously considered before you jump in!

Avian Vet Care

Forming a close and trusting relationship with an avian vet is a must if you intend to keep a galah at home. Your bird should have a check up at least once a year, or more often if problems are detected.

Exercise & Housing

Galahs are prone to becoming “perch potatoes” if not adequately stimulated on a daily basis. This can lead to weight gain and enlarged liver, amongst other physical and psychological problems. Your galah should be allowed out of his cage as often as possible everyday. The cage needs to be as large as possible, and fitted out with an assortment of toys and bird-safe materials to keep him busy and active while you are out of the room. Only natural wooden perches should be used to ensure healthy feet – eucalyptus branches are the natural type of native galah habitat. If you don’t live in Australia, you may have to find a supplier who can give you some branches that you can shape into perches for your galah. They will need to be regularly swapped and changed as galahs are notorious for shredding the outer bark as a natural instinct, therefore the branches become smooth rather quickly.

We do not advocate the clipping of any bird’s wings (why?) (but if you must – and there are very rarely any valid reasons to do so, please read THIS article, clip wings please have it done properly by an avian vet!), and your galah should be given room to fly on a daily basis to encourage exercise as well as for positive mental health (just like walking is good for us, flying is great for birds).

Even flying from one stand to another in your living room is better than nothing – just make sure you cover all windows and any other hazards first. An outdoor aviary is obviously an ideal facility to have to give your bird more free flight opportunities, however this is understandably not feasible for everyone. Allowing daily indoor flight is a good second option.

What To Feed Your Galah Friend

Galahs enjoy a wide variety of foods, but can become addicted to unhealthy treats if not fed properly. If you have a very young galah that has been fed well for his or her entire life, you are in luck. However a parrot that has been fed an inadequate, junk food diet (such as sunflower seeds) for a long period of time can be difficult, but not impossible, to change. Converting your galah to a high quality pellet diet plus daily fresh vegetables and grains, is the best way to ensure they are getting the required nutrients.

Supplementing this with fresh vegetables, a small amount of fruit, and other parrot-friendly foods like wholegrains and sprouts on a daily basis will ensure a good variety, stimulating eating times, and good health. Your avian vet will be able to advise on any dietary issues that you may need to consider, as appropriate to your specific galah and his or her state of health.

How to Improve Your Face Painting Techniques

Not everybody was born with artistic talent, but if you are willing to learn, you can easily become the author of some masterpieces. This is particularly true when talking about face painting techniques, as these can be easily learnt. Such techniques can make the difference between a professional face painting artist and an amateur, so make sure that you learn from the best.

As a rule of the thumb, you need to start by adding the light-colored paints. If you decide to paint a tiger, begin by applying white paint on the upper lip and below the nose. Next, the area surround the eyes, as well as the jaw, need to be covered in white paint. Yellow and orange paints are used for covering the rest of the face. At the end, take black pain and draw the lips, the eyebrows and the stripes that are characteristic to tigers. If you decide to apply the paints in another order, the results will be far from good. Patience is also required, as the first color needs be dry when the second one is applied.

Professional makeup and face paint are known to be very expensive, so try not to apply them in excess. If you are going to a party and intend to paint the faces of all the kids, make sure that your current supply of paints suffices for all the “models”.

A face paint sponge give you greater control over making your face painting smooth and perfect. A good sponge will be designed for you to use the edges to paint lines and the flat part to paint the base and solid colors.

Face paintings that are based on a single predominant color should be realized with sponges instead of brushes. This way, you will be able to save a lot of time. Different colors need to be applied with different sponges or with different brushes, if they are meant to represent a detail.

Cotton wool, jewels or powder can be used for creating some amazing special effects. For artists that cannot afford paying enormous amounts of money on expensive materials, rice, wheat and flour should also do the trick.

Face Painting Design Ideas for Boys

Boys who are having their face painted often want something extravagent, imaginative, scary and exciting. This provides many creative options!

Pirate

Dragon

Dinosaur

Spider and spider’s web

Robot

Tiger

Devil

Vampire

Snake

Fox

Skeleton

Batman

Soccer ball

Soccer Ball Face Painting

Whether you are going to a soccer game and want to stand out in the crowd, or just love soccer or football, soccer ball face painting makes your face the canvas for one huge football design!

There are some awesome photos out there of people who have had their entire face painted as a ball. This is one of my personal favorites:

Soccer Ball Stencil

Snazaroo make a rubber stamp for face painting in a soccer ball design (click here to see it).

More than likely won’t have any trouble designing your own after you look at photos like those above. Thankfully, soccer balls are easy to draw and don’t require a huge amount of artistic skill.

You, or your face painting artist or friend, mainly needs to focus on the shapes being as even as possible and the lines being straight. That’s about it!

Black and white paints are the most obvious choice of colors, but don’t be afraid to experiment a little. Red, yellow, green and other colors work well with the white. Your team colors are obviously a good choice as well.

Here are some tips for creating a brilliant soccer ball face paint design:

Paint a round circle first with white paint – outline only.

With black paint, make outlines of the pentagons and hexagon shapes of a soccer ball – look at a real ball or a photo like the one above for a guide.

On a real soccer ball the pentagons (black) have 5 sides, and the white hexagons have 6 sides (see image below). You can either choose to match this exactly or make a uniform 5 or 6 side ball (people most likely won’t notice!).

An image of a real soccer ball pattern – note the 5 sided pentagons in black and the 6 sided hexagons in white.

Simple Face Painting Ideas and Designs

Face painting is particularly popular during Halloween, but Christmas and the other holidays are never neglected by the ones who are passionate about this. When attending a festival or even when going to a party, face painting can turn you into something unique. In order to find some simple face painting ideas, you can check the galleries that are available on the internet.

If you want to keep things simple, choose a face painting design that requires only a few colors to be used. Animals such as:

Primates

Zebras

Tigers

are quite simple because they have distinctive markings and do not require professional artistic skills. On the other hand, cartoon characters such as Tweety can also be reproduced with great ease, since it has only one predominant color.

Fruits should not be neglected if you are looking for simple face painting ideas. You can start with strawberries or watermelons and continue with more complicated designs.
Do you have a favorite singer? By using face painting, you can turn into him or her within a few minutes. This becomes an effortless task if you decide to “become” one of the Kiss members, even though black metal bands also feature some quite scary designs, too, nowadays. Characters from comic books are yet another favorite option, so you can choose some of the following:

- Hulk
- Spiderman
- Cat woman

As long as you make sure that the painting that you use is safe for your skin and eyes, there is nothing to worry about. Acrylic paints and professional make-up are preferred by the face painting artists because they are easy to apply and easy to wash away. With a little bit of practice and with high-quality materials, you might even be able to attend face painting contests where you will also be able to learn new techniques!

The Face Painting Book of Butterflies

There are over 35 designs to follow and each has step by step instructions as well as helpful tips. You can get as creative as you want and you’re not locked into the exact butterfly designs in the book.

Pros about Face Painting Book of Butterflies (why should you get it?):

Lots of ideas – if you thought all butterfly face painting had to look the same you’ll be proven wrong!

Clear, colorful, vibrant pictures that help bring your designs to life.

It isn’t a huge book, actually it’s quite thin, so it makes you focus specifically on the actual designs without getting distracted and not knowing to start.

Who Would Enjoy This Book

People with a little bit of face painting experience would get the most out of this book. It doesn’t go into great detail on how to apply the paint, but even if you’re a beginner you’ll pick it up with a little practice. So don’t rule it out if you have no experience, just expect to use it as a learning tool (practice on the kids – they’ll love it!).

Simply Butterfly Face Painting Tutorial Video

This video walks you through painting a butterfly in as simple manner as possible, but with great results. You can follow the video in conjunction with using the book – see what you can come up with!

A quality forward facing baby car seat will keep your child safe, and this is your number one priority when you are choosing a new seat for your growing child.

Every year thousands of children are killed or injured in car accidents

You can help keep your child safe in the car by understanding what makes a good seat, and when your child should be using a particular type of seat.

In general you can follow this guide:

Infants

Should be using infant seats and rear facing convertible car seats until 1 year of age, or until at least a weight of 20 pounds is reached.
All infants should always ride rear-facing until they are at least 1 year of age and weigh at least 20 pounds.

Toddlers

You can start thinking about moving your child into a convertible or forward-facing seat once they weight 20 pounds and are at least 1 year old.

Keep in mind that this is just a general guide, and you should carefully consider your own situation before moving your toddler out of a rear facing baby seat and into a car seat that is forward facing. Each manufacturer will also have specific minimum and maximum height and weight requirements.

Britax Regent Youth Car Seat

The Britax Regent youth car seat is the number 1 selling Britax seat on Amazon. It is a forward facing only seat (not convertible) and is rated as being for children 1 year & 22-80 pounds. The height range is 31 inches to 53 inches.

The Britax 5 point harness system

Safety Features

A five-point harness system is comprised of straps or webbing that extend over your child’s hips, shoulders/collar bones, and between their legs.

It results in contact being made with the strongest parts of the body (shoulders and hips) and diverts energy from a crash away from your child.

Another feature is Side Impact Protection. This contains the head, neck and body in case of a collision to the side of the car.

<img src="http://forwardfacingbabycarseats.com/wp-content/uploads/Britax-SideImpactProtection.jpg" "Britax side impact protection safety system" />

Colors

The seat is available in 2 colors:

Tan/Gold

Sahara (this is a light sandy color)

Price

Currently the Britax Regent is discontinued, however the Britax Frontier 85 Combination is the one that most people interested in the Regent are now purchasing. Check it out here.

Customer Feedback

With a 4.5/5 star ranking at Amazon.com from 170+ reviewers, you know you are not going to be disappointed with this chair. Rarely does a product elicit such a positive consumer response – so this is a good thing and should increase your confidence in purchasing this particular car seat.

I’ve randomly selected some customer comments to quote here:

"Worth every penny! Does NOT require huge SUV… I’m very happy with this purchase and would recommend this seat to anyone who asked!"

"The chair arrived and looked great, quality was unquestionable. I waited to install it on a day that I had more time available, due to many consumers suggesting that installation was difficult. Boy was that untrue for me! I was so prepared for the worst and had downloaded my owners manual for the anchor points in my Ford Explorer prior to installation. My son loves his big boy chair and looks so much more comfortable now, even when he sleeps his head rest naturally. No regrets, a definite must have for parents looking for a quality seat that provides comfort and safety for years to come!"

Any Negatives?

In the interest of being unbiased, I also want to list what negative comments have been said about the Regent.

Using Amazon.com as an example (because it is clearly the most popular place for customers to voice their opinions), the rating break down for the Britax Regent car seat is as follows (as of October 2009):

5 stars: 115 people

4 stars: 29 people

3 stars: 7 people

2 stars: 4 people

1 star: 4

As you can see, a 5 star rating dominates.
But what about those 1, 2 and 3 star ratings – what negatives compelled people to vote in such a way? This is what I discovered:

One woman stated that the seat was too tight for her child, and Britax responded to her by saying that they can not predict the girth of a child. I see this is a rather rare event, as 99% of kids are going to fit just fine. Apparently this was worthy of a 1 star rating!

As a side note, Britax does state that the Regent is “designed for larger child passengers” as it holds up to 80 pounds safely and comfortably.

Another 1 star rating was in review of a 3rd party supplier called Hip Monkey and had nothing to do with the Britax seat itself – this unfortunately bears poorly on the product so its disappointing when people rate a product by are really only upset with the supplier.

Finally, a 2 star rating was given by a lady who noted that the seat did not fit well into her micro car. Whilst the majority of cars will be fine, extra small cars probably aren’t best for children to travel in anyway. So again, this doesn’t justify a negative opinion of the Britax Regent.

Shipping

If you choose to buy online, Amazon (link goes to Frontier model as the Regent is now out of stock) is the cheapest price you are going to find. They also offer one day shipping in the USA.

See the Britax Frontier 85 Combination close up
